Gregory Pearl is Founder and President of Alteris LLC, a Business Valuation and Economic Analysis firm.
He has a background in Business Valuations & Consulting, Mergers and Acquisitions, Joint Ventures & Alliances, Alternative Investments and Strategy/Execution. Geographic experience and clients are in North America, Europe, Japan, the Middle East and Africa.
Advised/managed/valued thousands of projects/businesses across multiple industries, from silicon valley pre-revenue start-ups to multinationals with sales in the billions. Appeared as an expert/opinion witness in litigation, including courtroom testimony.
He has worked in all facets of the M&A process, from strategy to search/screen, structuring and pricing negotiations to post acquisition integration. He has appeared as an expert witness in court (litigation) and assisted in settlement negotiations and mediation. Alteris LLC has advised on numerous Alternative Investment projects, some of which were quite exotic for various reasons and included private equity/venture capital, complex derivatives, real estate, natural resources/energy, agriculture, biotech, software and other leading edge technology. He also has conducted many strategy analyses, all with a focus on execution.
Greg has extensive operating experience as a General Manager with P&L responsibility, CFO/Director and Strategist. He founded Alteris LLC, a valuation and financial economics consultancy. Prior to that, Mr. Pearl was General Manager of the CommPro division for Shure Incorporated. Previous to Shure, he was at ACT, a venture capital backed electronics company. Mr. Pearl worked in technology strategy and M&A at Kraft. He started his career as a consultant at Arthur Andersen.
He has been an investor and advisor to early stage companies located in the USA and overseas. Currently is an adviser or owner of F3 Apps of Laguna Niguel, CA, Investments Analytic of Madison, WI, Novus Law of Chicago among others. He has been involved with two Illinois Entrepreneur of the Year winners.
He was President and Board Member of The Big Idea Forum, a nonprofit that mentors entrepreneurs. He served on the Board of Directors of a business incubator associated with Northwestern University and has consulted with incubators in Europe and Africa. Greg has been published in textbooks used in MBA programs worldwide and is a speaker at several universities, including as a past part-time instructor. He was a speaker at the United Nations HQ in New York on Economic Development and Technology Innovation in Africa.

Greg is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and member of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA). He is a Certified Business Appraiser (CBA) and member of the Institute of Business Appraisers. He has a B.S. in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana, studied law at DePaul University, has an MBA in Finance from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and an M.S. from Northwestern University.
